Company History

In 1974, Donald Powers founded Colonial Traffic Service. The small-scale operation provided seal coating and line painting services in the Lancaster area and the surrounding community.

As the company grew, it expanded its offerings to include tennis court resurfacing and asphalt repairs.

In 1984, the company was renamed Lancaster Asphalt Systems, Inc and Wesley Powers joined his dad as a partner in the business. Power sweeping and property maintenance were also added to the company’s list of services that year.

Since then, the company has remained family-owned and operated and has earned a reputation as a premier pavement maintenance firm in Central PA.

Service Area

Most of our sealcoating and power sweeping work is completed in Central PA (Lancaster, York, Lebanon areas), Southeastern PA (Chester County, western Delaware County), and parts of Northern Maryland and Delaware.

However, our service area spans up to a 2 to 2.5-hour drive from our location in Lititz, PA (Lancaster County) for certain athletic surfaces projects.
