Caroline – an Airbnb owner and Lancaster Asphalt customer – shares her story of working with LAS to install a pickleball court on her homestead in Gettysburg.

How Many Guests Would Care About a Tennis Court?

When we became owners of Gettysburg Farmstead, Inc., we knew we wanted to do something special to make the property even more inviting to our Airbnb guests. As avid tennis players, my husband and I initially thought about installing a tennis court.

However, it just didn’t feel right for the property. Tennis courts require a large footprint, and a tall chain-link fence isn’t very aesthetic. Furthermore, how many guests would really care about having access to a tennis court?

Hearing many of our tennis friends rave about pickleball and seeing how much joy it brought them, we decided to install a pickleball court

A Good Pickleball Court Installer is Hard to Find.

Once we decided on a pickleball court, the next step was to find a company to install it for us. I began searching the internet and making phone calls. I quickly learned there are not many companies in southern Pennsylvania with experience installing sports courts, especially pickleball courts.

The few companies I did find either didn’t have any experience or were extremely expensive. So, when I connected with Wes from Lancaster Asphalt Systems, Inc. and learned about their expertise in installing pickleball courts, and then received an affordable quote, it was an easy decision to hire them.

The Court Looks Stunning, Plays Beautifully

In early April, excavation of the site began, and the court was completed in late May.

Despite working around days of rain and other much larger projects, LAS fit us into their busy schedule so the court would be available for guests this summer. The court looks stunning, plays beautifully, and will undoubtedly provide many years of memories for us and our guests.

Thank you Wes, Chad and LAS for turning our vision into a reality.
